In 2004 it all started when the Capoeira of Senzala de Santos was brought to the Netherlands by Contra/Mestre Geraldo. He brought us the seed of Senzala,' Semente da Senzala'. Under this name we have over the years given many shows and workshops and organized several events. After the last event in June 2011, the need arose to change our name to' Senzala de Santos Holland'. We celebrated that in April 2012 with a Batizado. In March 2014 we celebrate the 10th anniversary of the Capoeira from Santos here in the Netherlands. During that event we also launched our CD, with songs written by the students themselves.
